Welcome to the music program at First UU Church of Columbus!
First UU Church of Columbus has 2 adult choirs (Chalice Choir and Spirit of Life Choir) and two youth choirs (Peace Pals and Rising Voices), plus a Music Director to oversee the entire program and develop special musical events.
All are welcome to participate in our choirs. They are coordinated by our enthusiatic, talented music staff. Our Annual December Choir concert features all 4 choirs and is a much anticipated event.
Upcoming Events
First UU’s UUNIVERSE!: Diverse Music You Want to Know The chamber music series has just received a grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council, for 2010. The first concert of the series will be January 31 at 3:00pm, with music of African American Composers. Thank you, GCAC!
January 22: Bill Cohen’s 1960s’ Coffeehouse – music and nostalgia from the revolutionary 60s.
January 31: UUNIVERSE! – chamber music of African American composers from First UU’s professional ensemble.
March 20: Dr. Tony’s Original Ragtime Band – ragtime, early blues and jazz, Tin Pan Alley and pop favorites from the early 20th century.
April 17: Youth Talent Night - a showcase for the many talents of First UU’s teens and young people, and a fund raiser for the youth justice trip to New Orleans.
April 23: Karaoke Sing-along – Les Kleen brings his huge collection of favorite songs from all eras
