An Invitation to All

Many find that the practice of welcoming deepens their personal path to wholeness. Please consider joining the board and other leaders in the church in engaging in the spiritual practice of welcoming!

We invite you to

• Recognize that Beloved Community is the foundation of our church and that visitors, newcomers, and newer members bring new energy and ideas to our community.
• Realize that as a member or friend of First UU Church, YOU have an important role in nurturing Beloved Community by reaching out and connecting in Respectful Relations with visitors, newcomers, and newer members.
• Remain Aware and Mindful of this role in all of your activities at First UU, making a conscious effort to build community in every interaction at church.

You can actively participate in this outreach by volunteering in one of many ways:

• Greeting on Sunday mornings
• Mentoring new members
• Facilitating a Getting To Know UU session
• Assisting at Path To Membership classes
• Making follow-up calls or correspondence to recent visitors
• Making follow-up calls to newer members
• Helping with the Welcome Back All-Call in September 2007
• Actively embracing visitors via Sundays of Hospitality & Grace
• Ushering on Sundays
• Serving coffee after services

Please consider volunteering for at least ONE of these important service tasks in the coming year! All are personally rewarding, don’t take a lot of time, and are essential to the well being of our congregation. These are opportunities to contribute to the larger community and reach out to those you may not know yet.
