RELIGIOUS EDUCATION COUNCIL is the umbrella organization that oversees all “RE” activities at First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus. Both epresentatives from the individual religious education committees and components and at-large representatives form the Council. Together they consider the big, overall picture of Lifespan Religous Education First UUCC and advise the Directopr of Religious Education on policy and procedure.
The scope includes:

9 & 11 am Sunday School classes & programs for children (preschool through Gr 5; sometimes Gr 6)

Youth classes & programs

Gr. 6/7 through Senior High

All Ages Sunday School & Intergenerational Worship (ten special days during Sept-May period)

Sunday School Information Area

OWL ministry

Adult Enrichment Programs (AEP)

Family ministry (toddler & nursery rooms, parent groups, Evensong, seniors, First Fridays, etc)

Young Adult classes & programs

Summer Programs (Summer Sunday School, Peace Camp, etc) In fact, Lifespan Learning!
Responsibilities:
To think about the big, overall picture of Lifespan Religous Education First UUCC Advise DRE on policy and procedure to Look for “holes” and overlap in programming Hear complaints and praise about procedure and programming Recognize and thank volunteers [such as at Teacher Appreciation Sunday] Recommend new RE-related staff to Personnel Committee
