Birth – 18 months 9:15 am & 11 am Nursery Care – Two volunteers, a safe environment and plenty to do.
18 mths to 3 years 9:15 am & 11 am Toddler Care Our regular Toddler Room Teacher is assisted by a roster of volunteers, including parents.
Ages 3 to 5 9:15 am & 11 am Wonderful Welcome helps children explore how and why we are willing to welcome others into our lives. We welcome not only strangers, but family, our peers, our neighbors, as well as our animal friends and nature itself.
Kindergarteners 9:15 am & 11:00 am Web of Life—Kindergarteners explore nature outdoors most weeks, answer the Big Questions through observing the cycles of nature and through reading Charlotte's Web, and begin to understand the meaning of our 7th Principle. Will require dress appropriate for the weather.
Grades 1 to 5 (grouped by age) 9:15 am & 11 am Workshop Exploration— With the help of workshop leaders, children explore the monthly sermon theme and the Big Questions, using a variety of tools—movement, drama, writing, games, dance, storytelling, crafts and art, music, cooking, math and science.
Grades 6 and 7 (and 8th graders not enrolled in OWL) 9:15 am & 11 am Neighboring Faiths Learn about a different religion each month, visit a house of worship or host a religious leader, followed by a week of reflection. The emphasis is on experience and relevance.
Grade 8 Our Whole Lives (OWL) OWL gives participants skills and practice in living their Unitarian Universalist values in the real world. This is a closed group. No new participants will be added during the year. See OWL brochure for details.
Grade 9 Coming of Age. This rite-of-passage program is designed to encourage Unitarian Universalist participants to explore their own religious beliefs and learn more about living as a UU both within this congregation and in the larger world. Participants will be invited to join the church. The COA worship service in which they share their expressions of faith is a highlight of the congregation's worship year. Parents must attend an orientation session. Participants must agree to regular attendance. This is a closed group. No new participants will be added during the year.
Grade 10-12 High School Our Whole Lives See OWL brochure for more details. Meets every week through December. Open group, but requires informed parental orientation.
Grades 10-12 Interfaith Leadership
Adapted from the Interfaith Youth Core, a program developed by Eboo Patel, this group is designed to develop UU youth as interfaith leaders. Participants explore values of service to our community and religious pluralism through stories from our Sources and personal storytelling, and create an interfaith service project.
