The ministers, chaplain and lay volunteers work together to serve the pastoral and caring needs of the church community. Our caring ministries provide a variety of services, offered by several different persons and groups.
Pastoral Staff: Our ministers, Rev. Mark Belletini, Rev. Eric Meter, and Rev. Carol Brody, as well as our chaplain, Dick Dawson, are available for individual pastoral consultations, for hospital and home visits, and other pastoral needs. Contact the ministers directly at 614-267-4946. Call 614-563-4855 to contact Chaplain Dick Dawson.
Pastoral Team: Members of the Pastoral Team are available to provide a church presence and help for individuals needing either short term or long term assistance. The Team is composed of lay members trained by the pastoral staff to serve as compassionate listeners, provide an on-going church presence, and offer other support on a one-on-one basis. A member of the Team is available after each Sunday morning service. Contact Chaplain Dick Dawson (614-563-4855) if you or someone you know needs this form of ministry.
Grief/Loss Group: The pastoral staff offers The Healing Journey, a support and sharing group for those experiencing grief due to the loss of a loved one, separation from a partner, loss of a job, or pain from another unwelcome life transition. The series of six weekly sessions is offered four times each year. Contact Rev. Meter (614-267-4946) to talk about this group.
Neighborhood Network: This network of volunteers, led by Coordinators Linda Miller (614-844-5419), provides services in times of emergency or when support systems such as family and friends are not available. Transportation, meals, child and pet care are examples of help given in 12 geographic areas.
Memorial Services: Volunteer coordinators work with the ministers and family to provide greeters and ushers and post-service receptions in connection with memorial services. Call the church office (614-267-4946) for an initial contact.
Medical/Orthopedic Equipment Loan: Those in need of equipment for medical conditions may contact Chris Hardin (614-707-8997) to arrange to borrow items offered for loan by church members.
Commemorating Joys and Sorrows: The Caring Committee facilitates the recognition of member joys and sorrows. This includes sending caring cards signed by members on Sunday mornings and the announcement of such events from the pulpit at Sunday Services and through the bi-weekly newsletter. To request recognition for yourself or someone you know, go to church website, click the link to the Joys and Sorrow Form (on the left side of home-page), fill out the form and send it. You may also talk with persons at the Caring Card Table following each Sunday morning service. Or call the church office at (614) 267-4946.
CommUUnity in Challenging Times: Expert volunteers in the congregation provide support and advice to members and others whose jobs, health care, housing and other areas have been impacted by the ongoing deep recession. One-on-one help, networking, workshops and much more are available from an updated catalog of services available for download from the church website (Community/Challenging Times) or call Michael Greenman (614-898-5825) for information.
