Volunteers serve summer lunches to low-income youth, as well provide money and material support to the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center.
Purpose Founded in 1971, CRC is a registered non-profit social service agency operating in the tradition of neighborhood Settlement Houses, which have been serving the needs of their local communities for over 100 years. Programming is organized into family, youth, and senior services. Family services provided food, clothing, healthcare, housing, and income to 651 families (62% increase over 2004-05). The summer lunch program for low-income youth served 6,700 lunches. Youth services worked with 100 children ages 5-12 at Clinton Elementary. Senior supportive services arranged transportation for 246 seniors for shopping, appointments, and social gatherings. Home maintenance and repair service was utilized 190 times, and 42 seniors were linked to USDA farmers' market coupons.
Scope CRC's core territory is that of Clintonville, Beechwold, and the OSU District north of Hudson Street. CRC supports low-income individuals, families, seniors, and youth meet basic needs.
